Bright and Beautiful: I contributed to a book!

Over the years, I’ve got extremely used to seeing my writing on a screen. Creating online content is what I spend 90% of my time doing. Whether it’s more long-form stuff on my blog or the daily updates I put out on Instagram stories, I’m always writing on the internet. And I love it. However, it means that I’ve become very accustomed to digital words, as opposed to physical. Even printing and binding my dissertation back in May felt odd after months and months of only ever seeing it on screen. So, as I’m sure you can imagine, what I’m about to tell you feels pretty damn huge.

Sat right next to me is as I type this blog post is a book. A real life, hold-it-in-your-hands-and-read-it-with-a-cuppa book, that I contributed to!

I know, I can’t quite believe it either.

Over a year ago now, Tender Essence, an essential oil company who I’ve worked with a lot in the past, told me that they were going to create an instructional book about how to make your own cosmetics. Since it was a topic that was right up my street (Essential oils, natural ingredients and cruelty-free, vegan cosmetics? Yes please!), they asked me to get on board as a copywriter and researcher. Of course, I said “yes”. Or, more accurately, shouted “yes” whilst doing a little happy dance.

Since then a lot of work has gone into our baby, including a week for me in Yorkshire where I got to meet the team and started writing. Everyone involved has poured their hearts and souls into Bright and Beautiful. So, to see it finally here in front of me is absolutely incredible.

We created this guide to empower you to be able to take the first steps towards natural and cruelty-free living, whether that’s through switching to a DIY shaving balm, or ditching aerosol air fresheners for our essential oil room sprays. Having the power put back in your hands means no animal testing, no unnecessary packaging and no potentially harmful ingredients. It means being able to make beautiful products that have the most important person in mind: You.

If you want to get your hands on a copy, head over to the Tender Essence website. Then make sure to take me and Tender Essence in any pictures of the book so that I can maybe start to feel like this is real life!
